Troy Cullen Chambers, a resident of DeQuincy was born June 28, 1933 and passed away Monday, Oct. 5, 2020 at his residence.
Troy proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a faithful member of New Hope Baptist Church, DeQuincy. He retired from Conoco Phillips after working for 30 plus years. Troy loved to help others and he was always volunteering to help on building projects. He always had a smile on his face and loved being with his family and visiting with friends. Troy was a faithful and loving husband, father and grandfather and he will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Kathleen Robertson Chambers; daughters, Susan Lynn Prejean and husband Raymond and Sandy Kay Pharis and husband, Trent; grandsons, Taylor Prejean and Joshua Pharis Duhon and husband, Seth.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Columbus Chambers and Alice Royer Chambers; seven brothers, Olan, Cyril, Nolan, Dutch, Loyal, Jack and Ralph Chambers; and three sisters, Crystal Smith, Leota Hennigan and Bonita Lyles.
The family will receive friends 9-11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, with a funeral service to begin 11 a.m at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Interment will follow at Riley Smith Memorial Park in DeQuincy.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested contributions be made to New Hope Building Fund, 543 Marcantel Road, DeQuincy LA 70633.
Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
