Christmas Parade

The Chamber of Commerce will host the DeQuincy Christmas Parade on Saturday, Dec. 5, at 10 a.m. The parade lineup will be at 9 a.m. on Third St. from Oak Street to McNeese St. The theme, this year, will be Country Christmas. Floats, vehicles and bicycles may participate with no entry fee. Participants will be judged with first place winning $100 and second place receiving $50.

This year’s Parade Marshal is Linda Royer, 2020 Chamber of Commerce Civic Service Award recipient.

There will be Fireworks later in the evening at 6 p.m. at the Union Pacific Sports Complex.

Pageant Rescheduled

The Miss Merry Christmas Pageant, sponsored by the DeQuincy Chamber, that was scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 21, has been postponed due to a conflict.

The pageant has been rescheduled as Miss Valentine Pageant and is set for Feb. 6, 2021, at the Heritage Place Hotel. Those crowned Queen will be honored at the Annual Chamber of Commerce Banquet in March. Also they will be asked to ride in local parades.

We are sorry for the inconvenience but it is beyond our control.

Entry forms for the Miss Valentine Pageant will become available in January. More information and details will be made public in the newspaper and on Facebook.
