John Shelton Fontenot, a resident of DeQuincy passed away Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2020 at the age 85.
He is survived by his son, Stephen Fontenot of Longville; two grandchildren, Stephen Fontenot II and wife, Jacki of Elgin, Okla. and Amanda Zuniga and husband, Rick of San Antonio, Texas; and one great grandson, Shawn. He is also survived by his sister, Charlotte McDaniel and husband, Gurvis of Kinder.
He was preceded in death by his wife, June G. Fontenot; and parents, Doc and Lena Fontenot.
The family received friends from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22, with a Rosary at 5 p.m. at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy.
The funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 23, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home with entombment following at Riley Smith Memorial Park in DeQuincy.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
