Arnold Addison, Sr.

Arnold “Red” Chancey Addison Sr., 98, of Ragley, died on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2020, at Medical City-North Hills in North Richland Hills, Texas.

He was born in Lake Charles. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. during the Pacific Theater of World War II. He was a former Chaplain of the Marine Corp. League and a member of Magnolia Baptist Church in Ragley. He worked for many years at Cities Service (Citgo) as a pipefitter where he retired.

He is survived by his two daughters, Verue Hughes of DeRidder and Glenda Coy-Scott of Ragley; one sister, Nina Gilbert of Cassville, Mo.; six grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; along with one great-great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Addison; one son, Arnold C. Addison Jr.; parents, Jason and Bessie Mae Addison; along with his sisters and brothers.

A celebration of his life was held Saturday, Nov. 28, with Pastor Ron Sherer and Bro. Rocky East officiating along with Celebration of Life by Celebrant/LIFT Director Jody Barrilleaux and LIFT Director Amanda Mothershed. Funeral service was held Saturday, Nov. 28, at Hixson Funeral Home. Burial followed at Highland Memory Gardens.
