Gregory Lydell Sweet, Sr., 55, of Merryville died Monday, Jan. 11, 2021.
Survivors include his wife, Ida Jackson Sweet of Merryville; sons, Gregory Sweet, Jr. and Marshall Sweet, both of Merryville, KeAndre Jack-son and Ayla of Bon Wier, Texas, Patrick Jackson and Brittany of New Waverly, Texas; daughter, Ivona Sweet of Merryville; mother, Katherine Sweet of Merryville; brothers, Kenneth Sweet of Bon Wier, Texas, Cecil Sweet of Merryville, Darrell Sweet of Baytown, Texas; sister, Sharon Sweet of Merryville; and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his son, Marcus Jackson; father, George Sweet; and grandmother, Rosie Sweet.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021 at 9 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. at Myers-Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder. Pastor Randy Forward will officiate. Burial will follow at Merryville Community Cemetery in Merryville.
