Close Watch Calcasieu app launched

Calcasieu Parish Sheriff Tony Mancuso announced the launch of a new cell phone app “CloseWatch Calcasieu,” which provides an easy, anonymous way to send in a tip to CPSO deputies about something suspicious you have seen or heard. You can submit a tip about any specific school or location in Calcasieu Parish.

“You can use the CloseWatch app if you have any information you feel could help law enforcement solve or deter crime, as well as prevent potential harm,” stated Sheriff Mancuso. “The app is free and easy to use. You can also remain totally anonymous when submitting a tip. Once you submit the tip it immediately goes to the CPSO Real Time Crime Center, where deputies will take appropriate steps to ensure the tip is investigated.”

You can download the app from your app store on your phone. For more information on the app and how it works you can visit https://www.cpso.com/crime-prevention/closewatch-calcasieu-app/.

“We have created this app as a tool to further prevent and deter crime in our community. Although our department prides itself on our proactive approach to policing, our deputies sometimes rely on you to help keep our community a safe place to live. Your tip could make a difference, so remember if you see something, send something,” finished Mancuso.

The CloseWatch Calcasieu app does not replace 911, which is for emergencies that are happening right now.
