Arthur Fluitt

Arthur Steven Fluitt, 80, died Friday, Feb. 12, 2021 at his home.

He was born in DeQuincy. He was a graduate of DeQuincy High School where he played football and ran track. He continued his education at Commonwealth Institute of Funeral Service College where he attained his Professional License. He worked in Funeral Service for nearly 50 years having worked primarily in Little Rock, Ark. and the past 20 years in Lake Charles for Johnson Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Crafts Fluitt of Lake Charles; four children, Christopher Steven Fluitt of Richmond, Texas, Rachel Fluitt Miller (Samuel) of Brentwood, Tenn., Jason Fluitt (Raygan) of Many and Tim Fluitt (Karen) of Hornbeck; 11 grandchildren; and twin sister, Martha Jane Blackmon of DeQuincy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur Augustus Fluitt and Elvie Fletcher Fluitt; one sister, Sadie Mae Hyatt, niece, Stephanie Hines, nephew, Jack Hyatt, Jr. and grand-nephew, Dallas Yellott.

Graveside services will be held at noon Wednesday, Feb. 24 at the Masonic Cemetery in DeQuincy. Rev. Ronnie Estes will officiate.

In accordance with state Covid regulations, attendees for services are respectfully requested to wear masks and follow social distancing guidelines.
