Ronnie Lee Hunter “Chef Hunter” (Ron), 59, died Saturday, Mar. 13, 2021. He was born in Kinder. He was raised in the New Addition Community where he attended Morning Star Baptist Church. Despite his challenges, he attended grade school at Grand Avenue and DeQuincy High School where he completed an Academic Award.
He attended Refuge Temple Ministries He was mentored by Bro. Alvin Skinner Sr. and his wife Lucinda before her recent passing, and Mary Carrier.
Survivors include his sisters, Mary Louise Braxton of Mossville, Ola Marie Leday, Clara Frohm, both of DeQuincy, and Sender Benjamin of Lake Charles; and brother, Benjamin Hunter of Port Arthur, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents, Mary Jane Marks and Elijah James Hunter; two brothers; and two sisters.
