Steve “Termite” Speight of DeQuincy was born Apr. 7, 1948 and passed away at his residence Wednesday, Mar. 17, 2021 at the age of 72.
He is survived by his wife, Donnie Speight; children, Tammy LaCaze and husband, Keith of DeRidder, Melanie Speight of Portland, Oregon, Stephen Speight, Jr. of Portland, Oregon, Patrica Broussard and husband, Gary of Westlake and Wanda Hines of DeQuincy; 14 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Elizabeth Speight; grandson, Seth Speight; and brother, Michael Speight.
The family received friends from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, Mar. 21, and the funeral service was held 10 a.m. Monday, Mar. 22. The visitation and funeral was held at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Interment followed at Hyatt Cemetery in Fields.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
