REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE HOUSING
AUTHORITY CITY OF
DEQUINCY, LOUISIANA

The Board of Commissioners of the Housing Authority of the City of DeQuincy, La. met in regular session on March 9, 2021 for the following purpose:
Chairman Jerry McCaig called the meeting to order and upon roll call, those present and absent were as follows:
Present: Jerry McCaig, Ira Royer, Darlene Hooker, Carmen Iley, Shirley Bagwell, Brenda Vige
Absent: Lynne Treme
A quorum present, the following business was transacted. The minutes from January 12, 2021 were reviewed. Ira Royer made a motion to approve the minutes and Carmen Iley seconded. Motion carried.
The financial reports for December 2020 and January 2021 were reviewed. The year-to-date actuals were compared to the year-to-date budget. Carmen Iley made a motion to accept the financial reports as presented and Ira Royer seconded the motion. Motion carried.
A request for proposals on the interior repairs from the Hurricane damage was sent to three contractors. Only one quote was returned by Disaster Recovery Solutions, LLC. Carmen Iley made a motion to accept the quote from Disaster Recovery Solutions for interior repairs and Ira Royer seconded the motion. Motion carried. Res # 969
2021 Winter Storm caused damage to 9 units. The hard freeze resulted in busted pipes inside units, breezeways, and utility rooms. Maintenance staff repaired all busted pipes. Continuum Restoration sent a crew to remove all damaged sheetrock, insulation, kitchen cabinets and install dryers and fans where needed to remove all moisture.
A Rewards and Recognition Policy in accordance with State Civil Service effective February 3, 2021 was presented. After discussion of the policy, Carmen Iley made a motion to approve the policy as presented. Ira Royer seconded the motion. Motion carried. Res # 970
The vacancy report was presented by Brenda Vige.
There being no further business to come before the board, the Chairman thereupon declared meeting adjourned.
