Karen Ruth Caldwell was born Apr. 21, 1948 in Athens, Texas and passed away in Beaumont, Texas on Friday, Apr. 16, 2021 at the age of 72.
Karen received a Masters Degree in education and taught school for several years. She was also an administrative assistant for a software company. She had recently moved back to her home state of Texas and was so happy to be back. After moving back to Texas she attended Abundant Life of Beaumont.
Karen enjoyed cooking, playing games and to fellowship with her friends and family. She loved to talk on the phone and she always stayed in touch with those she knew and loved. She will be greatly missed by her friends, cousins and extended family.
She is survived by her brother, Art Caldwell and wife, Paulette; nephews, Jonathan Caldwell and Andrew Caldwell; great nieces, Ashley Bruce and Lillian Caldwell; and great nephew Brenden Caldwell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Eugene Caldwell and Naomi Ruth Hosch Caldwell; grandparents, Rev. L. J. and Katilee Hosch and Loranzo and Mamie Caldwell.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Apr. 23, at Gladewater Memorial Park in Big Sandy, Texas.
Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
