Free Little Library to be dedicated

The DeQuincy Study Club and the City of DeQuincy have joined forces to establish a Free Little Library for its community. A dedication ceremony will be held Friday, May 28, at 2 p.m. at the DeQuincy Railroad Museum Park area. Everyone is invited.

The DeQuincy Study Club contacted other women with Free Little Libraries in their communities. Simplay3, a company which sells Sharing Library boxes, was contacted by the club and they generously agreed to reduce their price. The City of DeQuincy reimbursed the club for the cost and the club purchased a sign to stand next to the Sharing Library box.

The club will insure that the box is filled with sharable books/magazines for adults, teenagers, and children. Feel free to leave a book if taking a book or simply donate read books in quality condition. The club and Mayor Riley Smith wished for this to be in place before school let out for the summer vacation. It is hoped that this little library will bring lots of joy and education to our community.
