Norma Ann Mays Bushnell, 76, was born in Eunice. A native of Eunice, she was a resident of DeQuincy, where she was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and a graduate of DeQuincy High School. She was an alumni of Grand Avenue. She died Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at her residence.
Survivors include five daughters, Vanessa Denise (Dexter) Thomas, Barbara Bushnell (Joseph) Janice, Evelyn Bushnell, Carolyn (Marlyn Sr.) Watson, and Melissa Bushnell (Decavius) Walker; two sons, Jerome (Staci) Bushnell and Dennis Bushnell Jr.; 28 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Bushnell Sr.; daughter, Mary Bushnell Jordan; parents, Mary Whirls and B. J. Mays; stepfather, Leonard Whirls; granddaughters, Jalyn Thomas and Helen Mays.
Funeral service was held Saturday, June 19, at First Church of God In Christ in DeQuincy with Pastor Marvin C. Durgan officiating.
