Evelyn Jaynette Rainwater Taylor was born Mar. 16, 1938 and passed away Saturday, Aug. 21, 2021 at the age of 83.
She was a faithful member of New Hope Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for several years and she was a prayer warrior. Jaynette was very family oriented; her relationship with God, her family and her church were everything to her. She was a loving wife, mother, MiMi, sister and aunt and she will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Charles Glendon Taylor; two sons, Timothy Charles Taylor and wife, Ronda and Terrel Thomas Taylor and wife, Elizabeth; daughter, Laurie Elizabeth Taylor Parker and husband, Jason; four grandchildren, Matthew Charles Taylor, Dustin Charles Taylor and wife, Jennifer, Kayla Elizabeth Taylor Savoie and husband, David, Jr., Andon Sowers, and Micca Rachele Parker Maddox and husband, Dude; great-grandchildren, Kaylee Jane Taylor, Sophia Elizabeth Savoie, Evelyn Grace Savoie, David Kent Savoie, III, Braden Thomas Savoie, Hunter Trace Parker, Taylor Bryant Remedies, Jaila Rachele Parker; and one great-great-grandson, Greyson Lee Shirley. She is also survived by her sister, Judy Cole and husband, Freddy; niece, Marci Cole Smith and husband, Tracy; and great nephews, Aaron and Jordan Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ottis Rainwater and Evelyn Childress Rainwater.
The family received friends, from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 24, at New Hope Baptist Church, 543 Marcantel Road, DeQuincy and the funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 25, at New Hope Baptist Church with interment to follow at Hyatt Cemetery in Fields.
Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
