Warren Chaumont

Warren Chaumont, 86, of Lake Charles died on Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2021.

He grew up in Duralde until his family moved to Lake Charles after World War II where he attended Marion High School. After graduating from high school, he joined the United States Air Force. He served during the Korean War, Vietnam War, and the Cold War. He spent many years in Libya, Scotland, Germany, and France before returning to the United States. In 1972, he retired from the Air Force and returned to Moss Bluff until his death. He worked for the La. Workforce Commission until he retired in 2000.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Shelton and Lena Manual Chaumont; wife Ruth Elizabeth Hodge Chaumont; one brother.

He is survived by his sons, Andre Louis Chaumont and wife Sharon Lynn of Ragley and Maurice Shelton Chaumont of Alexandria; daughter, Collette Dany George and husband Ronald of Lake Charles; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brothers, Bryan Chaumont of Lake Charles, Dorsey Chaumont of Clear Lake, Texas, Erroll Chaumont of Sulphur; and sister Zarelda Cooper of Washington.

Funeral service was held at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles on Monday, Aug. 23. Burial followed at Highland Memory Gardens.
