Callie Hilda Johnson Smith was born Mar. 30, 1943 in DeQuincy and passed away Saturday, Aug. 28, 2021 at the age of 78.
She is survived by her children, Arlis L. Smith of Starks, Vonda Jo Smith of Texas and Denise “BeBe” Lake of Starks; five grandchildren, Candace, Blake, Victoria, Amber and Tanner; and numerous great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Caroll E. Johnson and wife Helen, and Lloyd M. Johnson; and sister, Jo Allen Granger and husband, James.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Lee Smith; grandson, Jason Stanley; parents, Barney Johnson and Johnnie Willa Siau Johnson; brothers, John David Johnson and Clyde M. Johnson; and sister, Janice L. Boggs.
The family will receive friends from 9-10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, at Calvary Apostolic Church, Starks. The funeral service will follow at 10 a.m. at Calvary Apostolic Church. Pastor Jeremy Shields will officiate. Interment will follow at Miller Annex in Starks.
Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St. DeQuincy.
