Robert Larry Bailey was born July 28, 1952 in DeRidder and passed away at his residence in Ragley on Monday, Aug. 23, 2021 at the age of 69.
He is survived by his companion, Betty Dubois; sons, Joseph Purvis and Brian Purvis; grandson, Dylan James Purvis; nieces, Sandy Verzwyvelt and Kathy Freeman; along with a host of other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Newton Bailey and Delta Laura Sharp Bailey; sisters, Bertie Bailey, Linda Bailey, JoAnn Bailey Freeman, and Darlene Maul; and nephew, Eric Maul.
The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, and from 9-10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 10, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Following the visitation Friday, Sept. 10 at 10 a.m. there will be a procession from Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home to Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder for a graveside service.
Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St. DeQuincy.
