DeQuincy dominates Lake Arthur

DeQuincy jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead as Quarterback Reese Ashworth scored on a 3 -yard touchdown and never looked back totally dominating the Lake Arthur Tigers 35-0.

The big quarter for the home standing Tigers was the second quarter as they scored three touchdowns in the frame.

Taije Ceaser got it started on a 5-yard run. Gavin Gary then hauled in a 37-yard touchdown pass from Reese Ashworth to put the Tigers up 21-0. Jacob Leblanc Got the defense in on the action picking off a Lake Arthur pass and returning it 40 yards for the score pitting the home standing Tigers up 28-0.

Taije Ceaser closed out the DeQuincy scoring on the night with a 15 yard run.

Place kicker Kohen Cormier was a perfect 5 for 5 on the night with extra points.

Taije Ceaser ended the night with a good stat line of 2 touchdowns, 50 yards rushing and 38 yards receiving.

Hudson Snyder led all rushers with 85 yards. Hudson also picked up 3 tackles and 1 assist on the night.

Gavin Gary led all receivers with 50 yards on 2 receptions. On the defensive side he also had one tackle.

Wyatt Lavergne picked up 38 yards rushing on the night.

On the defensive side Reese Ashworth picked up 3 tackles and 1 tackle for loss.

Zach Chambers was in on 6 tackles; 2 solo and 4 assisted.

Chris Simmons was in on 5 tackles; 2 being solo and 2 assisted. He also had one tackle for a loss.

Hayz Hext and Drew Duhon added 2 tackles each while Wyatt Levergne added 1 and 1 assist.

Hunter Ardoin, Kheidren Leday, DaQwon Roy and Mario Dixon all added one solo tackle each.

The defense had a excellent game holding the Lake Arthur tigers to a total of 89 yards offense and only allowed them to pick up 5 first downs.

Next up for the Tigers a road game against St. Mary’s. The game will be held Friday night at 7 p.m. The game will be held on the Northwestern State University campus at Turpin Stadium.
