Don L. Perry Sr., 85, of Vinton died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2021.
He was a native of Crowley and moved to Vinton in 1965 where he was employed by Livingston Ship Building Co. He was a member of Welsh Memorial United Methodist Church and was also a member of the Boilermakers Union 587 and later he became a member of Pipefitters Local 106.
He was survived by his wife, Gloria Cavys Perry of Vinton; children, Albert (Cheryl) Perry of Morristown, Pa., Myra Perry of Vinton, Dona (Howard) Cormier of Vinton, Don L. (Becky) Perry, Jr. of Starks; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; and four sisters, Linda, Elaine, Harriet, Muriel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Grace Belle Stafford Perry and Ivery Kenneth Perry; and four siblings.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 2, at 11 a.m. in Welsh Memorial United Methodist Church in Vinton. Pastor Rick Watson will officiate. A gathering of friends and family will begin at 10 a.m. before the service.
Cremation was entrusted to Hixson Funeral Home of Vinton.
