Jered Garrett Stanley, a lifelong resident of Starks was born Oct. 7, 1976 and passed away Monday, Sept. 20, 2021 at the age of 44.
Jered was a graduate of Starks High School. He was employed by the United States Postal Service in Vinton. Jered was one of the most selfless, caring people you would ever meet, a gentle giant with a heart of gold, always willing to do anything he could to help his family and friends. To know him was to love him and he will be greatly missed by his family and his many, many friends.
He is survived by his mother, Sue Stanley; brother, Josh Stanley; grandmothers, Nora Stanley and Arlene “Chaddie” Stanley; niece, Zoie Leger; uncle, Stevie “Stove” Stanley; aunt, JoAnn Rozas; along with a host of other family members and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gary Stanley; and his grandfather, Frank Stanley.
The family received friends 5-8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 24, at First Pentecostal Church, 225 Highway 109 S. in Starks, and the funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at First Pentecostal Church with interment following at Hyatt Cemetery in Fields. Pastor Karl Smith officiated the service.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
