Billy Joe Allen a resident of DeQuincy, was born Mar. 8, 1971 and passed away Tuesday, Sept. 28, 2021 at the age of 50.
Billy Joe had a lengthy career in Corrections. He worked for over twenty years at Phelps Correctional Institute. He also worked at Mark Styles Unit, Beaumont, Texas and currently he was an employee of the DeQuincy Police Department. He loved his cars, motorcycles, listening to music and cooking but most of all he loved his children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and his work family.
He is survived by his children, Harley Wayne Allen and wife, Jessica, William Wesley Allen and fiance’ Saria Willis, and Garrett Blake Allen; grandchildren, Jasper Thomas Wayne Allen, Brooklyn Elizabeth Meche, Dakota Shane Allen, Ayden Gray Allen, Waylyn Anthony Allen and Jansen Jett Allen; his biological mother, Lynn Mackay Gary of Port Arthur, Texas; brothers, Lane Bourque of Fort Worth, Texas and Robert LeJeune of Nederland, Texas; Stephanie Laughlin, mother of Harley Wayne, William Wesley and Austin Dakota; and Sharon Ann Allen, mother of Garrett Blake Allen.
He was preceded in death by his son, Austin Dakota Allen; and parents, Billy Wayne Allen and Ruby Idell Allen.
The family received friends from 9-10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 2, with the funeral service beginning at 10 a.m. The visitation and funeral were held at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Interment followed at Masonic Cemetery in DeQuincy.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
