Alvin Royer

Alvin Louis Royer Sr., 87, of DeQuincy, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 10, 2021 at DeQuincy Memorial Hospital.

Alvin was born to his late parents, Emanuel and Zaddie Royer on Nov. 23, 1933 in DeQuincy. He worked in the oilfield as a pumper/driller for 18 years, and lastly worked for Entergy as a Boilermaker for 11 years. He loved to travel and loved being with his grandchildren, who he loved very much.

He is survived by his son, Charles Timothy Royer (Valecia) of DeQuincy; two daughters, Janice Denise Brown (Denver Mills) of Harrodsburg, Ky., and Judith Anise Royer, of DeQuincy; along with numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.

Alvin is preceded in death by his son, Alvin Louis Royer, Jr.; one daughter, Anita Joyce Royer; one sister, Betty Hayes; and three brothers, Tommy Royer, Delbert Royer, Sr., and Dewey Royer.

Services will be held at Hixson-Snider Funeral Home in DeQuincy on Thursday, Oct. 14, at 2 p.m., with Bro. Eddie Hoosier officiating. Visitation will be at Hixson-Snider Funeral Home on Wednesday, Oct. 13, from 5 until 8 p.m. Visitation will resume at the funeral home on Thursday, from 12 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Cole Cemetery in Ragley.

Services entrusted to Jordan and Amanda Mothershed of Hixson-Snider Funeral Home, 205 E. Harrison St., DeQuincy.
