George Thomas “Tommy” Carlin, 89, was born Apr. 18, 1932 and passed away Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2021.
Tommy served in the United States Army and was a member of Westgate Church.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara “Bobbie” Carlin; children, Margie Schexnider, Jeanette Gilley Maddox and husband, Larry, Randy Carlin and wife, Marlena, Kathie Carlin Trahan and husband, Roger, Brenda Ann Carlin, Thad Carlin and wife, Lawree, and Carla Cooley and husband, Johnny; 28 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Loretta Foster Carlin and Joyce Royer Carlin; son, Ricky Carlin; daughter, Linda Gilley LeBouef; granddaughter, Sheryl Schexnider; great granddaughter, Layken Schexnider; parents, George Raliegh Carlin and Ida Ulan Carlin Thompson; his siblings, Clada Carlin Broussard, Bill Carlin, Marguerite Carlin Brown, Janet Carlin Fernandez and Georgiana Carlin Norwood.
Visitation was held from 9 to 11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 12, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy with an 11 a.m. funeral service. Interment followed with military honors at Oretta Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
