Rebecca Vincent

Rebecca “Becky” Stewart Vincent was born in DeQuincy on July 9, 1965 and passed away Thursday, Oct. 7, 2021 at the age of 56.

Becky retired from Phelps Correctional after 23 years of service; worked as a bus driver for the Calcasieu Parish School Board and as the cook for Toddler Junction. She also worked the voting polls in Calcasieu Parish. Becky was a giving person; it brought her great joy to help, bless others and she touched many lives with her warm smile, kind words and many acts of kindness. She loved going to garage sales, searching for a special treasure or a bargain and she was a wonderful cook. Becky was a loving mother and Grammee, her family was her world and she will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her children, Erika and Trent Buxton, Shane and Caitlin Vincent, and Blane and Jessica Vincent; grandchildren, Brinlee Buxton, Bethanee Buxton, Graham Vincent, Olivia Vincent, Rhett Vincent; and the father of her children, James “Trent” Vincent.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Dexter Stewart and Katherine Faye Alston Stewart.

The family received friends from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy and the funeral service began at 11 a.m. Rev. Jimmy Clark officiated and interment followed at Perkins Cemetery in DeQuincy.

Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 West Fourth St., DeQuincy.
