Rosepine’s big second half dooms Tigers

By Mike Suchanek

DeQuincy traveled last Friday up to Rosepine with District Championship hopes.

A well played first half gave the Tigers the halftime lead after the Tigers scored on a time consuming first drive on a 3-yard plunge into the end zone by Taije Ceaser to give the Tigers the 7-0 lead.

Rosepine came right back to score the game tying touchdown.

On DeQuincy’s next drive they drove down to the goal and were stopped short of the goal line and turned the ball over on downs. Rosepine took over and we’re quickly tackled in the end zone for the safety by the Tigers to give the upset minded Tigers the 9-7 halftime lead.

Unfortunately, that would conclude the Tigers scoring for the night and Rosepine scored 3 second half touchdowns to take the 27-9 victory. Rosepine wins the district Championship outright going 5-0 in district.
