Project Care de Noel to benefit elderly

By Jeffra DeViney

The Rotary Club of DeQuincy is excited to announce their first annual project to benefit area elders, Project Care de Noel. The club will put together gift packages to include a warm fleece throw/wrap for Christmas and other donated items.

We are asking for support and donations from the local businesses and persons from the community.

Join us in blessing those in nursing homes. We are serving two nursing homes, The Care Center of DeQuincy and High Hope Care Center.

Wish list items include: books (large print), scarfs, hats, gloves, no-slip socks, non-medicated toiletries, coloring books/coloring supplies, Christmas window cling decorations/decorative items, stuffed animals, puzzle books. Please no candy, medical items or candles.

Drop off items at DeQuincy News, located at 203 E. Harrison St, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. The deadline is Wednesday, Dec. 15.

For more information call Crystal Nix at 337-485-1583 or Jeffra DeViney at 337-912-5063.
