Bessie Olia Hooper, 83, of Ragley, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 2021 at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital.
She was born to her late parents, Toney and Bessie Jeanette Nix on Feb. 5, 1938 in Lake Charles. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and being the life of the party. She always made people laugh. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by two daughters, June Hooper (Fritz Hoeger) of Ragley and Mary Anne Fontenot of Ragley; six grandchildren, Brady Reeves, Bobby Reeves, Charles Fontenot, Rocky Fontenot, Joshua Hooper and Shaunda Hooper; along with 14 great grandchildren.
Bessie was preceded in death by her parents; three husbands; one daughter, Debbie Jeanette Phillips; one son, T. L. Bartley; four brothers, Donald Nix, Kermit Nix, Belton Nix and Neil Nix; and two sisters, Shirley June Mims and Novie Melancon.
Funeral service was held at Hixson Funeral Home in Moss Bluff on Friday, Nov. 26, at 2 p.m. Burial followed at Westlake Memorial Park Cemetery.
