Essie Mae Bias was born Sept. 28, 1944 and passed away Thursday, Dec. 16, 2021 at the age of 77.
She is survived by her children, Leona McCoy, Fredrick LeDay and wife, Nakole, Sherry Snell and husband, Walter; brothers, Dalbert LeDay and wife, Joyce, Hershel LeDay, Lee Aaron LeDay and wife, Ethel, Russell LeDay, Phillip LeDay and wife, Lisa; sisters, Valerie Larvadain and husband, Gary, Sandra Ben and Eula Cullivan and husband, Arthur; her godchild, Dalbert Jerome LeDay, Jr.; along with numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family members.
She was preceded in death by her husband, August Bias, parents, Gilbert LeDay and Mary Roberts LeDay; sons, Auguson Bias and Tony Bias, sister, Priscilla LeDay and brothers, Donald LeDay and Milton LeDay.
The family will receive friends 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, with the funeral service to begin at 1 p.m. The visitation and funeral service will be held at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Interment will follow at Community Cemetery in DeQuincy.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
