Helen Ruth “Sue” Becktell was born July 6, 1944 and passed away Saturday, Dec. 18, 2021 at the age of 77.
She is survived by her children, Judy A. Clark of DeQuincy, Debbie S. Smith and husband, Johnny of Singer, Brad Clark and wife, Carolyn of Moss Bluff and Tim Clark of DeQuincy; grandchildren, Lauren E. Clark of Vinton, Dustin C. Smith of Lafayette and Christopher Clark of Moss Bluff.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Mancil Clark and her late husband, Richard Becktell; parents, Reece Hyatt and Janie Harvey Hyatt; siblings, Eloise H. Simmons, Wilma “Tinker” Hyatt, Betty J. Franklin, Joy Faye Menard, Evelyn Mae Pharris, Norman Hyatt, Edward Hyatt and David Hyatt.
The family received friends from 8-11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 21, and the funeral service began at 11 a.m. The visitation and funeral were held at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Rev. Donnis Ashworth officiated. Interment followed at Hyatt Cemetery in Fields.
Arrangements were handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
