On Saturday, Mar. 12, Gina Richard became the new Postmaster at the DeQuincy Post Office.

Richard began working for the post office on Jan. 8, 1994, giving her a total of 28 years of service. She has serviced in all departments since becoming employed at the post office. She has serviced as Officer in Charge through out her career at Singer, Longville and Fenton. She has served as Window Trainer in the 706 area, which includes Sulphur, Lake Charles, Vinton and DeQuincy. She has worked with several postmasters and has learned from each one of them.

She lives in Lake Charles but her heart is in DeQuincy. She arrives early and leaves late. She makes sure her employees and her customers are well taken care of. You are always greeted with a smile and you always leave with a smile. To her, customers are like family, and nothing is as important as family.

Richard’s family consist of her mother, Ms. Darlene Richard; husband, Kevin; three daughters Isabella, Syntel, Cinnamon; and three sons Alex, Chad and Devin; and two grandchildren, Chad Jr. and Devin Jr.
She loves her job. Customer Service to her is Number 1.

Asking employees about their new postmaster, they say she is the most deserving person for this position and is an inspiration to us and the community. There will be nothing new, you will continue getting the same treatment as in the past because Richard has been doing the work along with the employees. she will just be filling the position officially.

When out and about, go by and wish her well in her new position.
