Lafferty’s Walk-off Gives DeQuincy Lady Tigers victory over Pine Lady Raiders.

A walk-off double propelled the DeQuincy Lady Tigers to a decisive, dramatic victory over Pine Lady Raiders, 7-6.

DeQuincy was down 6-5 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Gabrielle Lafferty doubled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs.

There was plenty of action on the basepaths as DeQuincy collected 11 hits and Pine lady raiders had seven.

Pine Lady Raiders got things started in the first inning. An error scored one run for Pine.

DeQuincy tallied three runs in the sixth inning. Laurel Patin, Hannah Jefferson, and Adah Doucet each had RBIs in the frame.

Lafferty led DeQuincy to victory on the rubber. The pitcher allowed seven hits and six runs over seven innings, striking out three and walking one.

Phelps took the loss for Pine Lady Raiders. The hurler surrendered seven runs on 11 hits over six innings, striking out four.

DeQuincy racked up 11 hits. Baileigh Kellogg and Lafferty each had 3 hits while Patin has 2 hits for DeQuincy.

Third Round

DeQuincy Lady Tigers Varsity can’t catch up to district foe Kinder.

The DeQuincy Lady Tigers watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 6-0 loss to the Kinder Lady Yellow Jackets on Saturday. Kinder scored on a single by Brianna Fontenot, a single by Hadley Lemons, and an error in the first inning.

The DeQuincy Lady Tigers struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Kinder, giving up six runs.

Kinder got things moving in the first inning. Brianna Fontenot singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Brianna Fontenot was the winning pitcher for Kinder.

Gabrielle Lafferty took the loss for DeQuincy Lady Tigers Varsity. Lafferty allowed eight hits and six runs over six innings, striking out two and walking one.

Doucet led DeQuincy Lady Tigers Varsity with one hit in three at bats.
