The City Council of the City of DeQuincy met in special session on Thursday, May 19, 2022, at 4:45 p.m., at the DeQuincy City Hall, 300 N. Holly Street, DeQuincy, Louisiana, with the following members present: Margaret Brown, Judy Landry, Mark Peloquin and Ronda Jacobs. Absent: Denise Maddox. (Denise Maddox arrived at 4:56) The meeting was called to order at 4:45 p.m. by Mark Peloquin and the roll was called with the above result.There was no public comment.
A motion was made by Judy Landry and seconded by Margaret Brown to rescind the resolution adopted on April 11, 2022 authorizing Mayor Smith to sign documents pertaining to the LGAP grant for the purchase of four (4) Welcome to DeQuincy signs. Motion carried as follows: Yeas: Margaret Brown, Judy Landry, Mark Peloquin and Ronda Jacobs. Nays: None. Absent: Denise Maddox. Abstain: None.
A motion was made by Ronda Jacobs and seconded by Judy Landry to adopt a resolution authorizing Mayor Smith to sign documents pertaining to the current LGAP grant, for the purchase of four stationary license plate readers for the DeQuincy Police Department. Motion carried as follows: Yeas: Margaret Brown, Judy Landry, Mark Peloquin and Ronda Jacobs. Nays: None. Absent: Denise Maddox. Abstain: None.
Denise Maddox arrived but Vice-Chairman Mark Peloquin continued to act as Chairman for this meeting.
A motion was made by Denise Maddox and seconded by Ronda Jacobs to accept the bid from NCMC in the amount of $297,000 for the Wastewater Facility Trojan UV Specified System due to a portion of the system being indoors. Motion carried as follows: Yeas: Margaret Brown, Judy Landry, Mark Peloquin and Ronda Jacobs and Denise Maddox. Nays: None. Absent: None. Abstain: None.
There being no further business to discuss, a motion was made by Denise Maddox and seconded by Ronda Jacobs to adjourn the meeting.
