William Jackson, Jr.

William Albert “W.A.” Jackson, Jr. was born on June 3, 1929, and passed away Monday, July 18, 2022, at the age of 93.

W.A. retired from Sam Houston Jones State Park as a Park Ranger and from the Calcasieu Parish Library. W.A. enjoyed fishing and coon hunting. He was a faithful member of First United Pentecostal Church of DeQuincy.

He is survived by his wife, Regina Jackson; his children, Jerita Abshire and husband, Jimmie, and Jamie Andreas and husband, Rev. Ricky Andreas; step children, Glean Neenan and Margaret Neenan; grandchildren, Jonathon Prudhomme, Brandi Broussard and husband, Jeremy, Candance LaGrone and husband, Ethan, and Collin Andreas and wife, Christian; 10 more grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren; brothers, Carlton Jackson and wife, Joy, Verdice Jackson and wife, Alice, and Larry Jackson and wife, Lindsey; sisters, Wyoming Schoneboom and husband, Don, and Wilma Hodges and husband, Percy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Arizona Jackson; and siblings, G. C. Jackson, Titus Andrew, Myrtis Ruth, and Stanford Jackson.

The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m., Thursday, July 21, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home in DeQuincy. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, July 22, at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Riley Smith Memorial Park. Rev. Carlton Jackson, Jr. will be officiating.

Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. 4th St., DeQuincy.
