Annie Laura Eaves, 89, of DeQuincy was born June 15, 1933 in Hebert and passed away peacefully Saturday, July 23, 2022.
Annie was an active member of First Baptist Church of DeQuincy, where she served in the preschool department for many years. She taught first, second, and sixth grade in DeQuincy and retired from the Calcasieu School Board after 38 years of service.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 62 years, Bill Eaves; three children, Scotty Eaves and wife, Denise, Melanie Streams and husband, Scott, Tim Eaves and wife, Kimberly; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild on the way; and brother, Carey Etier of Columbia.
She was preceded in death by her son, Stacey Eaves; parents, Will and Emma Etier; four sisters; and six brothers.
The family received friends from 5-8 p.m. Monday, July 25, and the funeral service will began at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 26. The visitation and funeral service were held at First Baptist Church, 201 S. Pine St., DeQuincy. Interment will followed at Masonic Cemetery in DeQuincy.
Arrangements are being handled by Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 W. Fourth St., DeQuincy.
